AFCON 2025 : Gabon and Cameroon set for Central African derby
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon have taken part in the final training session ahead of the first group game against the Panthers of Gabon at 9pm this Wednesday December 24, 2025.
The training session at the Abdoulaziz Rifki training stadium focused on fine-tuning their play style, building cohesion and coordinating amongst players.
The players experience their determination to grab the first three points in order to have a comfortable start of the competition.
Head coach David Pagou during the Pre match press conference said despite that fact that he had just a week to prepare the team, he is confident in the capacity of the players.
They said they are training as they intend to play and the players are excited and motivated.
On the other hand, the marksman of Panthers of Gabon, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has joined the squad. He was part of the pre-match training session, working on specific exercises with his physiotherapist.
The team also expressed determination to beat the Lions when they clash this Wednesday at 9pm.
Coach Thierry Mouyouma of Gabon says his team is working on preparing tactics the counter the Cameroonian offensive. He added that the Gabonaise side is proving itself after they missed the previous AFCON.
During their training session at the Taghazout 2 training stadium, Gabon’s Ambassador to Morocco was at the stadium to encourage the panthers.

CAN Maroc 2025 : La culture camerounaise décolle pour Agadir
La promotrice culturelle Marie Florence Hond l’a annoncé, le 18 décembre à Yaoundé lors d’un point de presse.

« La culture camerounaise sera mise en avant au festival AGAFRIKA d’Agadir lors de la CAN Maroc 2025 », a déclaré la responsable du groupe culturel SCT by Flomik du Cameroun, Marie Florence Hond, dévoilant ainsi l’objectif de sa communication. Face à la presse nationale et internationale, elle a exprimé sa satisfaction suite à l’invitation reçue par le Comité d’organisation du festival AGAFRIKA.
Prêts pour briller
C’est avec une équipe d’une vingtaine de jeunes que le groupe va s’installer à Agadir au Maroc. Selon la promotrice culturelle, tout est fin prêt pour aller promouvoir les danses patrimoniales du Cameroun. Marie Florence Hond a précisé que les quatre aires culturelles du pays seront mises en avant : Sawa, Grassfields, Ekang Beti et Sahel, offrant un aperçu riche et diversifié de la culture camerounaise. Les spectacles culturels camerounais prévus à Agadir lors de la CAN Maroc 2025, sont prévus ainsi qu’il suit:
– Du 26 au 28 décembre 2025
– Du 2 au 4 janvier 2026
– Du 9 au 14 janvier 2026

AFCON 2025: Panthers and Indomitable Lions sharpen claws ahead of Central African duel
The Indomitable lions of Cameroon get into action on Wednesday December 24, when they clash with the panthers of Gabon at the Adrar stadium in Agadir. While the Lions sharpen the claws in a close door training session this Monday, the panthers are leaving no stone in unturned as they prepare for their first group F game against their Central African counterpart.
The panthers of Gabon have taken part in a close door training session this Monday ahead of their clash against the Indomitable Lions on Wednesday at the Adrar stadium.
The Gabonaise team is lodged at the Taghazout Hilton Hotel, in the same sea side village as their first opponent, the Indomitable lions of Cameroon.
The captain of the Panthers, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who yet to join the squad is likely to miss the confrontation against Cameron.
The Panthers entered Agadir on Saturday december 19, from Casablanca where they spent five days in camp preparing for the AFCON.
The head coach of Gabon, national football team Thierry Mouyouma, is scheduled to face the press this Tuesday during the Pre match press conference and the official training session where the media has 15 minutes access.
The Gabonaise side has also identified, central defender, Bruno Ecuele Manga, for the pre match press conference.
According to new CAF rule three players would speak to the press during training session.

AFCON 2025: Competition officially Kicks off as Lions Intensify training
The Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 officially kicks off this Sunday with the host country taking in Comoros in the opening game scheduled for 8pm in Rabat.
The opening ceremony is coming a day after the CAF President, Patrice Motsepe announced a number of reforms including an increase of the prize money for the winner of the competition and an increase in the periodicity of the tournament from two to four years.
In the meantime, Cameroon’s indomitable Lions continue preparations in Agadir where they would play their first match on December 24.
For this Sunday, the national team will hold a training session in the evening at 6:00 PM at the Enza Stadium, located 11 kilometers from downtown Agadir.
Their first training session in Moroccan seaside city took place yesterday, behind closed doors.
Regarding the number of players, the Indomitable Lions squad has been completed with the arrival of Christian Kofane, the player from the Bundesliga called by coach David Pagou brings the number of lions to 28.

AFCON 2025: The pulse in Agadir hours to kickoff
About 24 hours to the kickoff of the Africa Cup of Nations, the Indomitable Lions host City of Agadir is already vibrating to the rhythm of the competition.
Volunteers, fans, and officials are on the move to celebrate the Continental football jamboree in the own way.
The Fans zone, situated close to the Atlantic coast, is already in beehive mode with business persons exhibiting various items including handicrafts and other handmade products.
The stage is set with artists and instrumentalists fine-tuning their notes ahead of live concerts at the fan zone.
At the Agrar stadium where matches are scheduled to start on December 22, volunteers are queuing at the entrance to acquire the authorization to begin work.
As the pressure mounts, makeshift businesses are also popping up like mushrooms.
While some artists engage in the decorations of vehicles in AFCON colors others are selling accessories for fans.
Supporters are also in a rush to buy tickets and reserve their spots at the stadium when matches effectively kick off.

AFCON 2025: Excited fans reminiscent of Lions’ 1988 exploits in Morocco
With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations fast approaching, Agadir has taken on a new look, as Morocco readies one of its host cities for the continent’s biggest football showpiece.
Scheduled to host two groups in the expanded 24-team tournament, the coastal city is already brimming with football enthusiasts, some still cherishing memories of Cameroon’s AFCON glory on Moroccan soil in 1988.
Welcome, bienvenue in French and mahagbe in Arabic, are amongst key messages that catch the attention of visitors in Agadir. Along the street, AFCON logos and flags of participating teams also fly high at strategic points.
The host population on the part of excited to welcome delegations from Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Gabon and Mozambique of group F, as well as Egypt and Zimbabwe that are scheduled to play at the Agrar stadium.
Moroccan fans look forward to seeing the lions repeat their exploits of 1988.
The seaside city with its stadium close to the Atlas Mountains is gearing up to the kick off of the tournament here on Monday when Egypt will clash with Zimbabwe.

AFCON 2025: Indomitable Lions to take up residence Hyatt Regency
The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will set their base in Agadir at the Hyatt Regency in Taghazout. The management of the seaside resort says they have taken measures to give team Cameroon a special trait.
The Hyatt Regency, where the Indomitable Lions a lodged is a situation in Taghazout, on the outskirts of Agadir.
Taghazout is a fishing village north of the city of Agadir, on Morocco’s Atlantic coast.
Located some 19 km from Agadir city centre, the five star offers various facilities for teamwork and physical fitness.Ahead of the arrival of the Indomitable Lions this Friday, hotel officials say all is set with a special touch given to Cameroonian cuisine.
The appealing view of the surf beaches and the undulating ocean waves is expected to provide a conducive environment for Coach pagou and the team to strategize on the victory game plans.

AFCON 2025 : Agadir is ready to welcome delegations
The city of Agadir in Morocco is already dressed in the colors of the African Cup of Nations.
Finishing touches in construction works are ongoing at the Agrar stadium where the accreditation centre is situated.
Media professionals have been taking turns to pick up the printed version of the precious document that gives access to various parts of the play stadium.
Bright desert sun rays beaming in the city of Agadir, where breeze blows periodically keeping temperatures at about 10 degrees Celsius.
Along the streets, flags of participating teams planted at various cross roads tell of a city of readiness of the city to welcome the continental football jamboree.
At the Agrar stadium, finishing touches construction works are still ongoing.
Media professionals are progressively making their way to the accreditation centre to print out the document that would give them access to the stadium and other reserve areas.Some of CRTV’s delegation didn’t succeed in getting the precious document but CAF officials assured the team that measures are being taken to sort out the situation.
Visitors to the Agrar stadium near the Atlas mountains, are taking pictures to immortalise their passage that was built in 2004 and opened in 2013.
Team Cameroon would have to create a new record with its first wins at the Agrar stadium after playing 2 matches during CHAN 2018 with any winning none.

AFCON 2025: CRTV Production Team Cameroon arrives Agadir
The team of reporters from the Cameroon Radio Television, CRTV, assigned to cover the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco have taken up temporal residence in Agadir, where the Indomitable Lions are scheduled to play two of their three group games.
Team leader, Evelyn Mengue A Koung, has given directives to members of the delegation during a production meeting this morning.
The CRTV delegation landed at the Mohamed V, International Airport where they were welcomed by a Cameroonians resident in Morocco.
From the airport branded in AFCON colours, the team hit the road for a five hour ride by bus to Agadir where decorative lights tell of a city ready for the African football jamboree.
Prior to their deployment, the head of CRTV’s Delegation to Morocco gave directives to the team.
The CRTV is set to produce reports, live commentaries for TV and Radio as well as web productions on CRTVWEB platforms, with insights in the Lions’ den.
