  • AFCON 2025 : Dreams by Indomitable Lions fans abbreviated

    The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon are leaving the 2025 African Cup of Nations tournament with words of congratulations and motivation from their coach David Pagou, fans and the Moroccan coach, Walid Regragui.

    Their ambitious journey towards a sixth AFCON trophy was halted at the quarter finals by a compact Moroccan defense that had mastered their play style and formulated an appropriate response.

    With two spots kicks, one during each half of the game, the Indomitable Lions took irreparable damage.

    Substitutions, tactical changes and counters offensives produced insufficient results.

    Beaten but not defeated, the lions who already missed the World Cup 2026 expedition have resolved to take the lessons from the AFCON to better prepare for future events. Coach David Pagou said told press men, adding that the team is still young and most of the players were having their first AFCON experience.

    The combative team spirit of the Cameroon National football squad attracted admiration from fans who were thirty for more.

    One of the most interesting stages of the AFCON journey was their 2-1 win over the Bafana Bafana of South Africa in the round of 16.

    The South Africa side tipped as the favorites because their, experienced players who have been working together over a long period of time, during the AFCON 2023 they reached the semi finals and they have an experienced coach who was the 2017 AFCON with Cameroon.

    Coach David Pagou of Cameroon on his part maintained his composure with cautious declarations.

    However, on the field, the Indomitable Lions have control of the game countering the South African onslaught and taking the lead with two goals. The Bafana Bafana managed to score one in the last minutes of the game, insufficient to change the tide. The lions carried the day, sparking celebrations among fans in Morocco and the millions Cameroon.

    Coach David Pagou’s brightest smile could be perceived at the post match press conference as he asked for a little time to savour the victory.

    It was also a time of celebration for the players who also expressed satisfaction with their output.

    This celebration would be the last in Morocco as the host Nation’s Atlas Lions halted the Indomitable Lions journey at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium.

  • AFCON 2025: Heated Ambiance Hours to Kickoff Quarter finals

    Players of both teams, Cameroon and Morocco are on their feet despite signs of injury in previous matches.

    The coaches of both sides affirm during the Pre-match press conference. Media professionals covering the competition on their part look forward to a difficult game full of spectacle.

    The inviting flickering of light on the outermost nest of the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium is telling of its readiness to host the clash of lions in its 68,000 seats arena.

    Both the indomitable Lions of Cameroon and the Atlas Lions of Morocco were yesterday at the Mohamed VI football complex in the final training session to fine-tune their winning tactics.

    Players of team Cameroon, trained in a light hearted atmosphere of warmth and conviviality.

    Earlier, Coach Walid Regragui of Morocco expressed optimism, saying his team has not lost any of its recent matches.

    Coach David Pagou, indicated that the voices of the handful of Cameroonian fans at the stadium will sound loudest.

    Indomitable Lions striker, Christian Kofane told press men that they will not be moved by the crowd of Moroccan fans.

    Media professionals at the pre-match press conference look forward to a difficult match with an edge for Cameroon.

    British based journalist, Lucas Colin says he is curious to see how sides will adapt their play style while Soumare Mohamed of Mali says Cameroon has 51% chance of winning Morocco because of the team spirit and youthfulness of the players.

    Hours to the match, fans are mobilising for the emotion packed encounter hoping for a remake of the 1988 experience, when Cameroon beat the host and went ahead to win the trophy.

    The doors of the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium will open to fans from 4pm.

  • AFCON 2025: Cameroon’s Charismatic Midfielder, Carlos Baleba

    At the center of Cameroon’s resounding performance till this stage of the AFCON 2025 stands one player. Carlos Noom Quomah Baleba is the midfield architect, dribbler and ball conjurer.

    The wonder boy from Brighton and Hove Albion in the English Premier League has conquered Indomitable Lions fan, dazzled Africa, made debate easy for analysts and seduced big football clubs to his pursuit.

    If any wonder lingers on where he got his stamina from, the route is traced from Douala in Cameroon where his birth was recorded in 2004. His father a former footballer who played in South Africa coached the lad to beat daddy’ record. Baleba started at Futur Soccer FC in Douala and through the Ecole de football des brasseries de Cameroon, to Lille in France and then to Brighton and Hove Albion in the UK.

    In performing signs and wonders for Hove Albion, Baleba fired a bulls eye shot outside the box in a 3 – 2 victory over West Ham United which was voted premier league goal of the month of April 2025.

    Carlos Baleba started with the national team in a world cup qualifier against Cape Verde in Cameroon. He is always initiating and completing something of worth.
    His Splendid game against South Africa earned him the man of the match award, serving as a birthday present and honor to his mama in heaven.

    The AFCON is on course and Carlos Baleba is building on his legacy as a box to box player in the likes of Paul Pogba and Kevin de Bruyne.

    His vision for an AFCON trophy seems big enough to keep the team alive in the competition.

  • AFCON 2025 : Indomitable Lions Amazing journey through the group Stage

    The Indomitable lions journey to the AFCON officially kicked off in Morocco with their arrival at the Agadir Airport on December 19, 2025 from Casablanca where they had been in camp for about a week.

    It was about midnight amidst freezing temperatures that the chartered jet taxied at the airport of the city that was going to be their base throughout the competition.

    Cameroonian fans based in Morocco turned out to welcome the lions to the Agadir.

    Head coach David Pagou on his first international expedition with the indomitable lions was accompanied by his selection of 28 players, a majority of them heading for their first AFCON experience.

    The squad settled at their seaside residence at the Hyatt Regency in Tagazout, a fishing village in Morocco’s Atlantic coast, where they strategies far from the media to finetune the strategies ahead of their first match against Gabon.

    During the pre-match press conference, media professionals anxiously awaited the first declarations for Coach David Pagou who had just take control of the squad a few days to the tournament. It was here that he the catch phrase, “Ndamba na for field”  meaning football is on the pitch.x

    It was also during the pre-match training session at the Abdoulaziz Rifki stadium that the media caught a glimpse of the players during the 15 minutes window opened by CAF for the media. Three players also addressed the press in line with new CAF rules.

    Then came the D-day on December 24, 2025, the 45,480 capacity Agrar stadium in Agadir situated on one of the plans of the Atlas mountain welcomed fans of the panthers of Gabon and the Indomitable lions of Cameroon. Fans gave screams of excitement during the warmup session leading to the game.

    With the kick off given, supporter kept their fingers crossed praying for the lions to outrun their central African neighbour. Both sides squandered several opportunities until the lions took the edge from the goal from Karl Etta Eyong who scored the first goal for the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

    With One goal up, the lions maintained control of the game without taking any damages. When the referee blow the final whistle it was Cameroon 1 and 0 for Gabon. Cameroon’s Bryan Mbuemo was awarded the Man of the match Award. Coach David Pagou in his calm tone told the press that the lions are in their own corner constructing their young team.

    The lions continues their exploits four days later at the Marrakech stadium with a draw during the second group F game against title holders, the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire. The match was full of fireworks with Elephants opening score and the Lions equalizing less than three minutes after. With four points and two goals in two matches, team Cameroon automatically picked one of the qualification tickets for the knockout stage. With equal number of points as the Cote d’Ivoire both sides struggled for the top spot in third and final group game.

    Coach David Pagou insisted on team work within his squad which he described as the youngest in the tournant.

    On December 31, 2025, the lions were informed that the President of the Republic had move his end of year address to the nation by one hour earlier to honour the lions who had to play at 8pm. Motivated by the consideration, the players made Cameroonians proud by winning their game against, Mozambique and grabbing the man of the match award given to Christian Kofane.

    The team that missed the qualification ticket to the World Cup, recruited a new coach without international experience just days to the competition came to the AFCON stronger than expected and surprised most sports pundits and predictions. The indomitable Lions are rewriting history and some coaches are already describing team Cameroon as the Surprise of the AFCON.

  • AFCON 2025: Christian Kofane, Cameroon’s emerging striker

    Indomitable Lions forward and bearer of jersey no 26, Christian Kofane has already engraved his name in the list of goal scorers at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

    In three appearances, Kofane he scored two goals, during the third group F game against Mozambique and in the round of 16 encounter against South Africa.

    The youngest goal scorer in the going AFCON in Morocco is Cameroon’s Christian Michel Kofane. He is 1,89 m tall and aged 19 years, 5 months.

    The slim bodied player with an feeble physical out is an embodiment of the Lion fighting spirit, coming in handy each time.

    With two goals to his credit against South African the round of 16, in rabat and the match winning goal against Mozambique in the last group F game where his performance also earned him the Man of the match trophy.

    Before going professional in Europe Kofane played in Cameroon’s Littoral Regional football League with the AS Nylon Club in Douala until late 2024, before traveling to Spain.

    With two goals to his credit, Christian Michel Kofane is two goals behind the top scorers in 4 goals in the AFCON. His goal tally is expected to increase as Cameroon continues in the competition.

    L’archevêque métropolitain de Yaoundé s’exprimait ainsi ce 25 décembre 2025, à l’occasion de la célébration de la fête de la nativité.

    C’était à la cathédrale Notre Dame des Victoires où il célébrait la messe de 9h, venus nombreux acclamer le Messie venu naître parmi les hommes.

    Signification de Noël

    Occasion pour l’homme de Dieu de s’apesantir sur la signification de cette fête chrétienne qui, explique-t-il, est la naissance de l’enfant sauveur de l’humanité, Jésus Christ. Ce faisant, relève-t-il, Jésus permet à l’homme de participer à la procréation divine. Pour cette célébration qu’il qualifie de « miracle de Noël », Mgr Jean Mbarga relève que « Nous avons une proximité et des racines anciennes avec le Christ », car, poursuit-il, « les africains ont été parmi les premiers à connaître l’enfant Jésus en l’accueillant en Egypte ».

    Pour devenir les collaborateurs de ce prince de la paix, explique-t-il, nous sommes appelés à être des artisans de la réconciliation. Dès lors, l’officiant demande à chaque chrétien de reconnaître Christ à travers celui qui est à côté de lui, à travers l’étranger, pour que, auprès de tous, il n’y ait plus de personnes isolées et abandonnées.

    Nécessaire refondation des chrétiens

    Pour cette année, l’archevêque métropolitain de Yaoundé relève que Noël intervient «au moment où nous avons besoin de nous refonder ». D’où son invite aux fidèles et aux hommes de bonne volonté à refonder leur histoire et leur projet ainsi que leur vie en Jésus Christ, « parce qu’il assume la totalité de l’histoire de l’humanité, c’est le verbe de tous les temps parce que le Christ a une sagesse profonde qui peut nous permettre de sortir de toutes les crises qui minent nos Nations, qui minent le monde », a-t-il martelé.

    Pour lui en effet, le meilleur cadeau que nous puissions donner à ce Jésus qui vient nous rappeler qu’il est venu dans le monde pour nous sauver, c’est de lui donner notre honnêteté. « Que le bien commun soit possible, que le respect des biens publics soit aussi acquis, que nous ayons tous le souci de la promotion globale, nationale, et que la jeunesse puisse rêver d’un monde meilleur », a-t-il renchéri. Car, selon lui, en l’espérance, nous allons vaincre la mélancolie, la résignation, le mal-vivre et le découragement.
