    Women’s AFCON 2026: Indomitable Lionesses brace up

    The Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon have continued training ahead of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations to kick off on July 26 in Morocco.

    Cameoroon’s 26 players had a light training session this Tuesday July 7, 2026 at the military stadium in the presence of head coach Valentine Nguele.

    The new and old players have resolved to give their best in the competition.

    East Region: 3rd Chantal Biya International Mountain Bike Race Launched

    The city of Bertoua and the East Region have officially declared their readiness to host the 3rd edition of the Chantal Biya International Mountain Bike Race, scheduled to take place from 5 to 8 August 2026.

    The announcement was made by Minister Joseph Le, the promoter of the event, during a press conference held on Monday June 29, at the Joseph Charles Doumba Multipurpose Hall in the Bertoua I Council.

    The ceremony was attended by the Secretary General at the East Governor’s Office and the President of the Cameroon Cycling Federation, Honoré Yossi, among other guests.

    This year’s edition will introduce two major innovations: the BAGOFIT International Business Week and the Bertoua Investment Forum, initiatives designed to complement the sporting event by promoting investment opportunities, business networking, and the economic potential of the East Region.

  • Cameroon recognises winners of 30 Medals in various Competitions

    Some Cameroonian athletes who were outstanding during different competitions on the international scene have received performance Attestations from the Minister of Sports and Physical Education for backing home 30 different medals.

    This was during a special ceremony at the Ministry of sports and physical education to honor these athletes who won

    • 12 medals during the body building international Grand Prix in Georgia,
    • 11 medals during the African taekwondo championship,
    • 7 medals were secured during the international para athletics championship in Tunis.

    While presenting the different medals to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, the athletes were reminded of the need to put the love for country first and continue defending the nations colours on the international scene.

    Their respective outstanding performances were described by Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi as a source of inspiration, especially as Cameroon gets ready to be part of upcoming international competitions such as the Commonwealth Games.

    Dynamo of Douala has boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 win over Coton Sport on Match Day 23.

    The Douala based team has been positioning themselves as one of the forces to reckon with since the start of the second half of the season.

    The team has been putting in a string of top-notch performances, With 9 wins and 1 draw.

    Aigle Royal of Menoua defeated Gazelle Football Academy by 1-0

    AS Fortuna had a 1-1 draw with PWD of Bamenda

    Victoria United of Limbe defeated Panthère Sportive of Nde 2 goals to 1.

    Meanwhile Stade Renard of Melong was defeated by leaders Unisport by 2-1

    Colombe thrashed Canon One goal to zero.

    Aigle Royal du Moungo humbled Fauve Azur 3 goals to 2.

    Match Day 23 of the MTN Elite One Championship reshared the cards and all teams are bracing up and revising their notes in order to pick up at least a point in the next encounter.

    Eliminatoires CAN 2027 : Le Cameroun hérite des Comores de la Namibie et du Congo

    Les Lions Indomptables connaissent désormais la feuille de route qui les mènera à la CAN 2027. Tête de série du groupe G, le Cameroun a hérité d’un tirage plutôt clément mais piégeux, composé des Comores, de la Namibie et du Congo. De septembre 2026 à mars 2027, la sélection camerounaise devra batailler ferme pour valider son billet pour le grand rendez-vous est-africain placé sous le signe de l’unité.

    La Coupe d’Afrique des Nations sera coorganisée par le Kenya, la Tanzanie et l’Ouganda va se jouer du 19 juin au 17 juillet 2027 sous le thème de Le mot pamoja qui est un terme qui provient du swahili (une langue parlée en Afrique de l’Est et dans les Grands Lacs) et qui signifie ensemble ou tous ensemble.

    Le tirage au sort des éliminatoires de cette compétition s’est déroulé ce mardi 19 mai 2026 au Caire en Egypte pour repartir les 48 équipes en 12 groupes par la main des grands noms du football africain Max-Alain Gradel (Côte d’Ivoire), William Troost-Ekong (Nigeria), Essam El Hadary (Égypte) et Trésor Mputu (RD Congo).

    L’équipe des Lions Indomptables

    Le Maroc, le Sénégal, le Nigeria, l’Algérie, l’Égypte, la Côte d’Ivoire, la Tunisie, le Cameroun, la RD Congo, le Mali, l’Afrique du Sud et le Burkina Faso ont été placés dans le chapeau 1, comme têtes de séries ainsi qu’il suit : 

    Ces éliminatoires vont se dérouler du 21 septembre eu 6 octobre 2026 (journées 1 et 2), du 9 au 17 novembre 2026 (journées 3 et 4), et 22 au 30 mars 2027 (Journées 5 et 6) pour le tableau final avant le tirage au sort des phases finales. 

    Le Cameroun (45ème FIFA) est logé dans le groupe G, avec pour adversaires, TV les Comores (109ème FIFA), la Namibie (120ème FIFA) et le Congo (133ème FIFA). Les éliminatoires débutent en septembre 2026 et s’achèvent en Mars 2027.

    National Olympic Committee: Hamad Kalkaba Malboum is No More

    The President of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee, CNOSC, who also held the position of President of the Confederation of African Athletics, CAA, Hamad Kalkaba Malboum passed away this Wednesday May 13, 2026.

    The International Olympic Committee, the African Athletics Confederation and the Cameroonian sporting bodies are mourning the man who dedicated a greater part of his life for the growth of athletics and Olympic movements in the continent and the world.

    The Military Colonel, one of the most influential sporting figures served in the highest ranks of athleticism and contributed enormously in the growth of Olympic sports at the level of the Islamic Solidarity Games, African Athletics, International Military Sports Council, International Association of Athletics Federation and the Cameroon Olympic and Sports Committee #CNOSC.

    Douala 2026 Dixiades: Preparations Gain Momentum

    Preparations ahead of the 2026 National Games of Cameroon, dubbed Dixiades, have already begun with key meetings bringing together actors of the organising committees and the National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC).

    The session held Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in Yaounde was presided over by the General Coordinator of the Committees, Grégoire Owona, and featured the presentation of the official logo of the Games scheduled to take place in Douala from December 13 to 22, 2026.

    During the meeting, stakeholders reviewed progress and outlined priority areas to ensure the successful organisation of the event.

    Key focus was placed on logistics, security, athlete accommodation, as well as sanitation, nutrition and the live broadcast of competitions, all considered critical to delivering a smooth and high-standard sporting event.

    The meeting also brought together Presidents of Regional Olympic and Sports Committees (CROS), National Sports Federations, local organising committees, and partners involved in the planning process. CRTV, as the main communication partner, is expected to play a central role in ensuring wide media coverage of the Games, alongside other stakeholders supporting various operational aspects.

    Speaking at the end of deliberations, the Secretary General of the Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee, David Ojong, stressed the importance of coordinated efforts among all actors.

    He noted that national federations will work closely with the technical departments of Regional Olympic and Sports Committees to guarantee effective preparation and execution of the Games.

    With momentum building and coordination strengthening, the Douala 2026 Dixiades are on course to stand out as a major sporting rendezvous, showcasing Cameroon’s commitment to sports development and excellence.

  • AFCON 2025: Teranga Lions of Senegal crowned African Champions

    The Senegalese National football team now has its second AFCON trophy won after a 1-0 win over Morocco during the finals played this Sunday January 18, 2026 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat, Morocco.

    The lone goal of the encounter scored by Senegal’s Pape Gueye in the first half of extra time was enough to seal the fate of the Moroccan side.

    During each half of the 15 minutes extra time period, all temps by the Moroccans to level score were thwarted by the agile Senegalese defense.

    The regular time of the highly animated match ended in a 0-0 tie.

    The victory of the Teranga Lions of Senegal sparked huge celebrations in the country and amongst fans watching from their TV sets.

    Celebrations that makes the end of the AFCON 2025 that kicked off in December 2025 and continued till January 2026 with 24 teams at the starting block.

  • AFCON 2025: Honourable Exit for Indomitable Lions

    The Cameroon national football team leaves Morocco shoulders high after leaving an impression that they are still a force to reckon with in African football.

    The Indomitable Lions bowed to the Atlas Lions of Morocco by 2 – 0 in a quarter final match at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium in Rabat, capital of the host Nation.

    The 68 thousand seats capacity football arena was full of Moroccan fans whose cheers, applause and shouts were so overwhelming that it almost submerged the drums and calls from Cameroonian supporters.

    The match that was full of physical impacts, swift passes and pressure on the Cameroonian defense which demonstrated a Moroccan side that had studied and mastered the Cameroon play style. The Atlas Lions open score in the first half from a corner kick. The Indomitable Lions struggled to respond swiftly as they had done in previous games but the Moroccan defense wall was impenetrable.

    Words of Motivation from Coach David Pagou during the halftime break as well as substitutions in the course of the game were not enough to repair the damage.

    The Indomitable Lions came back determined to level score in the second half and created some chances but another goal conceded through another corner kick sealed their fate.

    Exhausted from the overwhelming Moroccan pressure, team Cameroon prevented further damage and tried long balls from the wings but the Moroccan defense anticipated on the move. At the close of the game, it was Cameroon 0-2 Morocco.

    During the post match press conference, Coach David Pagou received a standing ovation from media professionals who had crowded the Press Conference hall to get his impression on the game and the Cameroon’s participation.

    The coach on his part congratulated his team, saying that in less than a month of working together, they have left a positive impression. Reaching the quarter final is an exploit that wasn’t expected of them especially as most of the players are young and were playing this level of competition for the first time, David Pagou added. He said they have learned from the Moroccan expedition and would improve in future. That the team has made Cameroonians to dream and  can once again be proud of their squad.

    He also saluted the Moroccan fans for cheering their players till the end and wished the best for Morocco that has crossed the quarter final of the AFCON for the first time in over two decades.

    Coach Walid Regragui of Morocco on his part congratulated his team for applying to the letter what they practiced during training and for obtaining the victory at the end.

    He said his team was currently among the best in scoring from spot kicks. He added that they studied the Cameroonian play style, its weak spots and came out with a counter strategy involving swiftly passes, rapid shift of position of players on the pitch to create spaces and spot kicks.

    So far, the Moroccan national team prides itself to have won or played draws without any defeat in their last 37 home games in Official Competition having a total of 32 wins, 5 draws.

    Team Cameroon is leaving the competition with some achievements including;

    – three man of the match awards to Christian Kofane, Bryan Mbeumo and Carlos Baleba in five matches played,

    – six goals scored, five goals scored,

    – three victories, one draw and one defeat

    – Reactions the quarter final, a stage better than the previous AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire.

    The goals were scored for the Indomitable Lions by Christian Kofane with two goals scored, Junior Tchamadeu and Karl Eyong Eta with one goal each as well as two own goals from the opponents.
