  • NASLA Cycle A and B: Trainees complete Simplified Military Training in Mutengene

    Some 352 Cycle A and B trainees of the National School of Local Administration (NASLA) have completed the simplified military training at the Police training and application center CIAP in Mutengene pledging to uphold the values of citizenship and patriotism in relation to the management of local and regional interests.

    While presiding over the ceremony, the Director General of NASLA, Tanyitiku Enohachuo Bayee, commended the dedication of the 3rd batch of trainees, during their one month training which marks the beginning of their journey towards the respect for civil liberty and human rights, preserving and maintaining public order, safety and peace.

    African Kickboxing Confederation: Aslam Mohamed Re-elected President

    The re-elected African Kickboxing Confederation President says he will keep seeking ways for the growth of the sport.

    The 46-year-old Aslam Mahomed made the comment shortly after his election during an elective general assembly this Wednesday June 24, 2026 in Yaoundé.
    In the meantime, Cameroon is set to host the African Kickboxing Championships, an event to be attended by athletes from some 15 nations.
    The competition starts on Thursday June 25, 2025.

  • National Assembly: Speaker Urges Population to adhere to Census

    The Speaker of the National Assembly has appealed on all Cameroonians to adhere to the ongoing General population and housing census, as well as that on agriculture and livestock.

    The right honourable Theodore Datouo was speaking after taking part in the exercise with the help of census agents.

    The Director General of the Central Bureau of the Census and Population Studies, BUCREP, Bernadette Mbarga and her deputy, Abdoulaye Oumarou Dalil were at the speaker’s residence to monitor the operation.

    2025 Statistical Review of Small and Medium Sized Companies unveiled

    Cameroon’s Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy Organisations and Handicrafts have witnessed significant growth, rising from 287,316 SMEs in 2019 to 472,208 in 2025, marking a 6.5% increase compared to the previous year.

    These statistics were revealed during the 15th edition of the 2025 SME statistical data review, a session chaired by the Minister of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicrafts, Achille Bassilekin III.

  • Paris Forum on Finance : Minister Louis Paul Motaze Present Cameroon’s debt situation

    The 13th Conference of the Forum of Paris has ended with more than 46 lending and borrowing States and Institutions expressing their concerns over the debt situation of many Developing countries.

    Representing Cameroon at the event, Finance Minister Louis Paul Motaze explained the efforts made by The State to streamline Government spending amongst them reforms in public finance management and the digitization of taxation, customs and treasury services.

    Other issues raised include preserving debt sustainability while investing in development projects, the risks associated with collateral borrowing and transparency of statistics.

    The Paris forum acts as a bridge between lenders and borrowers with the aim of facilitating access to sovereign funding mechanisms.

  • Cameroon Quality Movement Launched to Boost Entrepreneurs

    A new organisation known as the Cameroon Quality Mouvement with mission to accompany the government in its efforts to combat fake produce in the Cameroonian markets has been made official in Yaounde.

    The organ is expected to work with private and public enterprises, institutions and the Standard and quality agency in meeting its set objectives.

    The ceremony witnessed the installation of a seven-man team of the executive bureau to lead the destiny of the Cameroon Quality Mouvement till 2030. The bureau is led by the founding president of the organisation, Martin Yankwa.

    Members will work towards regulating standards, product certification, and ensuring that goods and services meet established safety and quality guidelines.

  • Cameroon recognises winners of 30 Medals in various Competitions

    Some Cameroonian athletes who were outstanding during different competitions on the international scene have received performance Attestations from the Minister of Sports and Physical Education for backing home 30 different medals.

    This was during a special ceremony at the Ministry of sports and physical education to honor these athletes who won

    • 12 medals during the body building international Grand Prix in Georgia,
    • 11 medals during the African taekwondo championship,
    • 7 medals were secured during the international para athletics championship in Tunis.

    While presenting the different medals to the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, the athletes were reminded of the need to put the love for country first and continue defending the nations colours on the international scene.

    Their respective outstanding performances were described by Prof Narcisse Mouelle Kombi as a source of inspiration, especially as Cameroon gets ready to be part of upcoming international competitions such as the Commonwealth Games.

    Cameroon has joined the international community to celebrate the 16th edition of the International Widows’ Day, observed under the theme “Justice, Dignity and Economic Power for Widows.”

    The commemoration serves as a reminder of the challenges many widows continue to face, ranging from social exclusion and discrimination to economic vulnerability.

    Speaking during a press briefing in Yaounde, the Minister of Women’s Empowerment and the Family, Professor Marie-Thérèse Abena Ondoa, called on the public to change their perception of widows and accord them the dignity, respect and support they deserve.

  • Sports Minister Honours Medal – Winning Athletes

    Some Cameroonian athletes who won medals for the country in recent international competitions have been awarded certificates of performance.

    This follows a yellow jersey win in this year’s Cameroon International Cycling Tour, new athletics records by Emmanuel ESEME , and 9 medals clinched by sambists.

    They have been hailed by the Minister of Sports and Physical Education, Prof. Narcisse Mouellé Kombi, during a reception.

  • Higher Education: Implementation of Resolutions of Conference of Heads of Institutions under Review

    The Ministry of Higher Education has taken stock of the implementation of key resolutions adopted during the Conference of Heads of Higher Education Institutions, as part of efforts to strengthen the quality, relevance, and competitiveness of university Education in Cameroon.

    The evaluation meeting in Yoaunde was chaired on behalf of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education, Professor Jacques Fame Ndongo, by the Secretary General of the Ministry, Professor Wilfred Gabsa Neba.

    The session provided an opportunity for stakeholders to assess progress made, identify remaining challenges, and chart the way forward in the execution of reforms aimed at enhancing academic excellence, governance, innovation, and graduate employability.
